ICASIC 2020 was an event hosted by the SELECT School of VIT (School of Electrical Engineering) with the help of International Society of Automation (VIT Student Section). It was held on the 27th and 28th of February 2020 at Vellore Institute of Technology, Vellore, Tamil Nadu.
ICASIC stands for International Conference on Automation, Signal Processing, Instrumentation and Control. In this conference, many keynote speakers from various countries (like US, UK, Malaysia, Bangladesh, etc) had congregated at VIT to discuss about the current technology in the fields of
- Artificial Intelligence
- Sensors and Nanotechnology
- Neural Networking
- Big Data
Also, there were many Post Doctorate scholars who had come to present their research articles to gain valuable insights of the scientific community and to improve their ideas to further benefit the society.
Preconference by ISA VIT
On 26th February, there was a preconference workshop conducted by National instruments and Fluke for all the VIT students about Robotics, Instrumentation, Machine Learning and Automation. It was a very successful event as more than 100 students participated and learnt a lot of new things.
Day – 1
The day started off with the inauguration ceremony at 10am at Channa Reddy Auditorium with the Pro-Vice Chancellor inaugurating the conference by the launch of the iCASIC app made by ISA VIT Student section.

Then the distinguished dignitaries gave a talk to inspire the students and encouraged the students to take up subjects such as Robotics, Augmented Reality, etc as they are the future and will be very valuable to the society. The Keynote sessions continued throughout the day with various faculties listening to the guest speakers. The conference continued until 7pm in the evening, after which there was a cultural fest for the participants of the conference by the various dance societies of VIT depicting the various folk dances of India thereby, showing the rich heritage of India
On the second day, the conference started at 9am at Ambedkar Auditorium and continued parallelly in Kamraj Auditorium for the whole day until 5pm. At 5pm, there was a vote of thanks for all the delegates and the conference came to an end.
